Description

Ry Russell took over operations of the historical Saco Drive-In Movie Theater, at the age of 21, and cemented it’s legacy as an icon of the industry. As one of Maine’s youngest 40 under 40 recipients and Media consultants, Ry has worked in business development and media for the past 8 years building communities through active engagement. After taking some time away from work, Ry started a personal wellness journey that took him to studying and utilizing Cannabis for personal use. Throughout this journey he documented the conversations he had about cannabis with, entrepreneurs, scientists, policy makers and experts on his podcast WeedBudz Radio. The purpose of the show was to learn everything he could about the industry and the plant itself. Naturally, as an entrepreneur himself, Ry quickly started to recognize a problem the industry was having in regards to single use plastic and packaging. Ry has founded the company, Knot Plastic, which is supplying 100% biodegradable and 100% compostable, plant-based plastic alternatives for packaging and other products.
