I met Mark as the race director of the Two Rivers Marathon in Lackawaxen, PA. Once opening up to him about my story he immediately opened up to me about also being in recovery. It was at that very moment that I knew I wanted to at least try to use his race for Boston Qualification in 2022. I mean how cool would it be for one alcoholic to ring the bell at a race organized by someone doing the same thing for a lot longer? His story included living on the West Coast, a crazy job and lots of fun stories. Now his story is sobriety, race directing and cleaner *pun intended* stories!
