You voted, we listened, and the winner was: "Beetlejuice" which is one of Tim Burton's early classic's before he got all Tim Burton-y. The director is not the only one in top form, we get a manic and memorable performance from Michael Keaton as the titular trickster himself and the music is beautifully executed by Burton regular, Danny Elfman.
Adam and Barbara Maitland are a happy couple, enjoying a two-week long staycation (*shiver*) when they take a wrong turn through a covered bridge and plunge to their deaths...but that's just the beginning. Turns out there is a lot more to being recently deceased than the living care to consider. Not long after they become accustomed to being ghosts, trapped in their own home, they are confronted by a family of new homeowners, The Deetz family: Delia, a pretentious artist, Charles, a laidback explant from the big city and his daughter Lydia, a gothically inclined outcast who becomes instantly intrigued by the house's ghostly ambiance. In an effort to rid themselves of the uninvited guests, Barbara and Adam seek the aid of Beetlegeuse (Pronounced BEETLEJUICE...don't worry, we talk about it.) a self-proclaimed Bio-Exorcist who is completely grotesque and overwhelming. But once the undead genie is out of the bottle, it's dangerously difficult to contain him.
