Description

This week we watched "FLUBBER," starring Robin Williams, his first big movie done with Disney ever since having a fallout with the company years prior. Williams stars as Philip Brainard, a brilliant, albeit absent-minded professor. After failing to appear at his own wedding for the THIRD TIME, Professor Brainard invents a meta-stable compound that has the ability to bounce and dart around a room with destructive force, and it's green! Brainard calls this "flying rubber" Flubber and goes straight to work on studying the strange substances abilities. Not only does flubber make other surfaces bouncy, it apparently can be harnessed to make vehicles fly. There's lots of bouncing hijinks with a strange love triangle between Prof. Brainard, his fiancé and his robot Weebo (voiced by Jodi Benson), and a high-energy soundtrack courtesy of composer Danny Elfman. Hope you enjoy!

This will be the final vote for this season so make sure your vote is counted:

Should we watch,

MARY POPPINS RETURNS - The long-awaited sequel to the beloved classic, MARY POPPINS. This version stars Emily Blunt in the lead role, offering her own unique yet respectful performance as the beloved nanny who has more than a few tricks up her sleeve and is still practically perfect in every way. Mary Poppins is back but with a new trio of children to look after and fantastic new worlds to explore, along with some very enjoyable songs.

OR

BEDKNOBS AND BROOMSTICKS - A old favorite of ours, starring Angela Lansbury as a witch-in-training who seeks out a spell to aid in the war that is threatening Europe at the time. Along for the ride are three kids and a jaded magician who go from flying high atop a king-sized bed trhough the skies, down to the Island of Naboombu to participate in a soccer match with some animated animals. The perfect companion to the original Mary Poppins movie.
