Hoist the colors! We have reached the third installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Back when the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise was perceived to be a trilogy of films, boy, those were the days, eh? This overly long yet entertaining movie had us experiencing a lot of the thrills and adventure for the first time in a long time. After being treated to a bleak opening scene which features a depressing pirate shanty, against a montage of traumatizing mass-hangings, we are transported to Singapore where Elizabeth Swan and the crew of the Black Pearl have teamed up with a back-from-the-dead Barbossa and a more brooding Will Turner to bring Jack Sparrow back from Davey Jones Locker with the assistance of the mystical and mysterious Tia Dolma. From there it is nothing but twists, turns, callbacks GALORE and...peanuts.
