In the inaugural episode of “What’s Next?” - in the spirit of Halloween - Abby and Briana take a deep dive into two of their favorite scary movies, Scream (1996) and Scream 2 (1997). They discuss the films’ satirical critique of the police, which of them would make a better “final girl,” the infrastructure of college auditoriums, and Matthew Lillard’s infamous tongue-acting.
Content Warnings:
Discussion of graphic violence (stabbing, choking, etc.) and the depiction of racialized violence in horror films. Mention of sexual assault, as relevant to the film, and the Columbine massacre.
