Mason Rodrigue was born between a bayou and a sugar cane field in Louisiana to an alligator and a mafia hitman. He attended LSU to extend his football career farther than it should have gone in the first place and eventually settled for playing rugby. He enlisted in the Marine Corps as a machine gunner to live out his dream of professionally reenacting scenes from Rambo and was sentenced to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. After deploying to Syria, a series of self-destructive life choices (even for a Marine) left him broke, depressed, and identifying as “a writer.” He is a proud recipient of a Regimental NJP and finally earned the rank of Corporal in the IRR. He now lives in New Orleans, where he drinks at the VFW, stockpiles ammo, and works on building a civilian legal Squad Automatic Weapon.
