What are the impacts of anchor institutions, specifically universities, on shrinking cities? We look at how University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University have impacted the physical and social environments of West Philadelphia. Caroline and Diarra explain the impacts of these institutions. They go on to have a discussion with Philadelphia-resident and Urban Studies professor at Barnard College, Aaron Passell about the effects of these institutions on West Philadelphia and how they shape and change the area.
