How well are your coping mechanisms serving you?

In today's episode we discuss how your strengths are keeping you in a "shell" of your potential, and might be holding you back from succeeding in your life purpose. This episode is for you If you want to break through and become everything you were created to be. We each have a unique and great potential but we are "sleep walking" through life based on our early childhood programming.

The psychological term is called "dimming of consciousness" where we have basic survival mechanisms where we dissociate from painful experiences as a way of surviving or staying safe in the world. This begins when we are babies because we, as humans, have the longest period of dependency of all mammals. We possess wired in defense mechanisms that protect us form being too overwhelmed or harmed by emotional or phycological threats. Therefore, as children there are maneuvers and coping strategies that are used to protect us that overtime become patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving. Over time these patterns turn into automatic habits that influence where your attention goes in the world. These early coping mechanisms aren't needed anymore and can become constraints with how we think, feel and act .

The purpose of life is to complete your God-given assignment to grow his kingdom, and it requires faith and courage to fully step into our true identity. Therefore, we must fully develop the how we think, feel and act.
