Barbara Williams could have gone to any college, but this young woman from Norwalk, Connecticut choose to study nursing at the University of Colorado. She met her husband, and still life-long partner, Chuck there, just a few months after seeing him featured in a Look Magazine article about two young Black students from Denver East High School preparing to attend CU. She was till in high school when she read the article. She wondered, whimsically, if she meet him when she got there.
As her husband Chuck pursued a professional basketball career, Barbara kept up her medical studies, finally finishing once they settled back in Colorado. From there, she dedicated her life to healing, mentoring, and inspiring others to follow their dreams.
A leader in every sense of the word, Barbara continues to encourage people to listen to those still small voices and to pursue their passions.
