William Pitts.
For many of us, that is all the introduction that is needed.
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Bill Pitts came to CU from Bowling Green University, where he ran a successful program that brought large numbers of Black scholars to that campus. As the director of the Black Educational Opportunity Program, he was responsible for the largest enrollment of Black students in CU history.
Bill was always there with a good word, always there to fight the good fight, always there to advocate for us, always there to remove obstacles, always there to cheer us on, always there to believe in Black students.
He will always be the Godfather.
