Description

There are those involved with New Age spirituality who hold feminist beliefs. This is an attempt to make a non-dualistic and non-oppositional response to feminism and its concepts, within or outside of the New Age movement.

From my perspective identity is egoic, and therefore, the patriarchal gender roles and identities are egoic in nature. However, by framing oppression of women in dualistic terms: The toxic and oppressive masculine and the oppressed feminine, feminism reinforces gender identities and creates new gender roles which are still restrictive and divisive.

Additionally, feminism lacks the spiritual insights of say, Buddhism and the New Age movement regarding the letting go of ego and attachments, and thus became the basis of a dualistic egoic battleground between feminism and those who felt threatened by it, especially given the fight or flight nature of egoic ideologies and identities.

The solution perhaps, lies with letting go of that which no longer serves, and that includes letting go of attachment to all identities and all ideological perspectives - and that includes letting go of feminism and/or letting go of opposing to it.

After all, can we really awaken while still grasping onto a sword?
