Hallo sobat podcast yang budiman,
Pada kesempatan kali ini, saya akan menambahkan jawaban dari pertanyaan Saudari Asmi Naziatulhusna yang bertanya kepada kelompok 7. Adapun podcast yang saya buat ini ditujukan untuk memenuhi salah satu tugas mata kuliah Bahasa Inggris Aplikasi II, yang diampu oleh Pak Dr. Syaifullah, M.Si dan Bu Nisrina Nurul Insani, M.Pd. Pertanyaan:
What are the benchmarks so that someone can be said to be good and smart citizen and what are the most prominent characteristics of good and smart citizen? (Asmi Naziatulhusna).
Jawaban:
Basically, the concept of a smart and good citizen has a different interpretation or point of view and depends on the point of view of the ruler. Sunarso (2012: 83) exemplifies that: (a) during the Old Order the concept of a good citizen was a citizen with a "revolutionary" spirit, non imprealism, colonialism, and neo-colonialism; (b) during the New Order, good citizens were citizens with Pancasila, human development, and etcetera; (c) while during the reformation period, good citizens were citizens who actively participated in the democratic state government system. Then Somantri (2001: 279) states that good citizens can be described as patriotic, tolerant, loyal to the nation and state, religious, democratic, and pancasialis. According to Maftuh and Sapriya (2005: 30), a person is said to be a smart and good citizen, a citizen who has civic intelligence, both intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual; have a sense of pride and responsibility (civic responsibility); and being able to participate in community life (civics participation).
In the discourse of citizenship, Citizen who have civic knowledge, civic dispositions and civic skills are citizens country here in after referred to as a smart and good citizen. One example of the characteristics of smart and good citizens is being able to understand their rights and obligations as members of a country.
