Hooray, it’s Tuesday!
This week we’re switching up our usual episode framework for a topic very close to our hearts and at the forefront of our current news cycle, the ‘gag laws’ and #LetUsSpeak movement. In this episode, we step you through the entire saga – from the introduction of the ‘gag laws’ in February 2020, their intended purpose and their actual consequences in practice, to the powerful Jamie-Lee Page and #LetUsSpeak campaign, and finally, what the law is as of 18 November 2020.
We are so proud to be able to bring you this episode and (slightly scathing) commentary on our legal system which fails so often, but is always picked up and improved by the people moving within it.
Content warning: this episode discusses issues of sexual assault and may be distressing for some listeners.
