We got a surprise message from Pastor TJ and Shayla on Saturday Night in Parkland this weekend. It’s a special and dynamic word about relationships. Are you putting off things you should be doing today. Take advantage of the time you are given! Don’t put off tomorrow what you can do today. What matters most? Life is short. “LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be.
Remind me that my days are numbered—
how fleeting my life is.
You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand.
My entire lifetime is just a moment to you;
at best, each of us is but a breath.” Psalm 39:4-5 Stop living in fantasy land. Living in a “someday” world. I’ll get around to it. If your life ended today, would you be proud of your relational world? If you knew the end was coming, what would you change? You can’t microwave relationships. Mediocrity becomes a constant when you think you’ve got all of the time in the world. We’re often raising kids who are experience rich, but relationally poor. Are they getting time with you? It doesn’t take much, but it does take TIME! Invested time is valuable. Our WORDS are powerful. “The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.” Proverbs 18:21 We have a desire to be fully loved and fully known. Relational intimacy takes time and words. VULNERABILITY + CURIOSITY = INTIMACY Don’t give the least amount of GRACE to those we love the most.
