Description

Matthew 27:33,35 They came to a place called Golgotha (which means “the place of the skull”). 35 When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

Matthew 27:39-43 Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself! Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!” In the same way the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders mocked him. “He saved others,” they said, “but he can’t save himself! He’s the king of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”

Matthew 27:45-46 From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land. About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?”(which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).

Matthew 27:50 And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.

WHAT’S AFTER WHY?

I Peter 2:21 MESS This is the kind of life you’ve been invited into, the kind of life Christ lived. He suffered everything that came his way so you would know that it could be done, and also know how to do it, step-by-step.

Matthew 27:46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?”(which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).

Matthew 27:50 And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.

Having faith doesn’t mean you don’t ASK “Why?”, it means you don’t STOP on “Why?”.

Luke 23:46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.

1.    Direct your “WHY?” To the right “WHO?”

Luke 23:46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father…

Matthew 27:40 Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!”

Matthew 27:43 Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”

When God feels the FARTHEST is when He promised to be the CLOSEST.

2.    When you don’t GET it, you have to GIVE it.

Luke 23:46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.

Jesus was capable of carrying the weight of the WORLD, but not the weight of “WHY?”

3.    Let FAITH have the FINAL word.

Luke 23:46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.

Trusting God doesn’t mean that it will get better RIGHT AWAY but it does mean that it will get better EVERY TIME.

Luke 24:1-2 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,

Luke 24:5-6 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!
