Our Parkland Location Pastor, Josh Mitchael shares an incredible message during our Voices series at Coastal Community Church.

“Character is the will to do what is right, as defined by God, regardless of personal cost.” ~ Andy Stanley“  A man who is intimate with God is not intimidated by man.”~ Leonard Ravenhill

Luke 19:1-10 NIV  1 Jesus entered Jericho and made his way through the town. 2 There was a man there named Zacchaeus. He was the chief tax collector in the region, and he had become very rich. 3 He tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree beside the road, for Jesus was going to pass that way. 5 When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. “Zacchaeus!” he said. “Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.” 6 Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy. 7 But the people were displeased. “He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled. 8 Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, “I will give half my wealth to the poor, Lord, and if I have cheated people on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much!” 9 Jesus responded, “Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a true son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”“

Character is the will to do what is right, as defined by God, regardless of personal cost.” ~ Andy Stanley

The enemy wants you to think that either good enough without God or that you’re too far gone to be used by God.

TRICK #1: The enemy wants you to think that you’re GOOD ENOUGH on your own WITHOUT GOD.

Luke 19:1 NIV He was the chief tax collector in the region, and he had become very rich.

Romans 5:12, “Sin came into the world through one man, and his sin brought death with it. As a result, death has spread to the whole human race because everyone has sinned.”

TRICK #2: The enemy wants you to think that you’re TOO FAR GONE to be noticed BY GOD.

THE TRUTH: We need a SAVIOR.

Luke 19:5 NIV 5 When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. “Zacchaeus!” he said. “Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.”

Luke 19:6-7 NIV 6 Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy. 7 But the people were displeased. “He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled.

Romans 5:8 NIV “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

John 10:10 NIV 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

THE HOPE: JESUS wants to know YOU,

Luke 19:8-10 NIV 8 Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, “I will give half my wealth to the poor, Lord, and if I have cheated people on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much!” 9 Jesus responded, “Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a true son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”

God isn’t just looking for BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION, He’s looking for HEART TRANSFORMATION.

Luke 19:10 NIV For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.” Are you willing to allow Jesus Christ to be Lord over of life?
