In this paper, Hamilton constitutes the energy of the executive describing this in four topics unity, duration, an adequate provision for its support, and competent powers. The objective of this paper is to expound upon the unity topic. Hamilton describes that the power of the executive is to be vested in one person rather than multiple to provide stability, especially as it relates to national security. Hamilton claims that this will provide accountability from one leader rather than multiple and dexterity and celerity in terms of execution of duties. Hamilton will cover the other three topics in the next couple of papers.
