Inspired by fashion, media and the ingenuity of Cherokee women, Cherokee National Treasure Tonia Hogner-Weavel’s skirts at the 2023 Ribbon Skirt Fashion Show were a testament to the joy of creating. Her work was not only beautiful and easy to wear, but it also brought traditional Cherokee fashion into the present while still maintaining a dialogue about how the culture affects us today.
