In this episode of The Bill Cartwright Show, Bill sits down with San Francisco native Derick Brown. They discuss Derick's early life growing up in San Francisco and how he grew inspired to give back to the community. Throughout the years, Derick has dedicated his life to leading community and neighborhood engagements addressing complex problems. Bill and Derick discuss his various roles, including being the Senior Community Engagement Advisor for the San Francisco Police Department, Director of the Office of Neighborhood Services for the late SF mayor Ed Lee, as well as the Director of Community Relations for Boys and Girls Club of SF. Derick is now serving as the Senior Director of USF's Leo T. McCarthy Center, bringing his journey full circle.
