Thi Tram Nguyen is the Founder of Chez François Poutinerie in Downtown Naperville. Listen to Thi share her passion for French-Canadian comfort food and her mission to help adults with special needs become productive employees with their own unique set of skills to help successful local businesses.
Thi was born in Vietnam during the Vietnam war. At the end of the conflict Thi fled Vietnam for a better life at the age of 8 years old, with extend family members leaving shortly to a refugee camp in Thailand. From there her journey took her to France then eventually reuniting with her parents in Montreal at age 11. There she went on to graduate from college, work in pharmaceutical sales, marry her husband François, and start her family with young children in tow, they moved to Naperville in 2013 where Thi started dreaming about opening a restaurant that would bring authentic poutine to the area, something she searched high and low to find. But more importantly she wanted to create a business that could help support job opportunities for young people like her son François who has Autism.
