Cancer is something we hear about all of the time, but until or unless you experience it firsthand or from supporting a loved one through diagnosis and treatment it’s hard to really understand how it affects us. We often avoid asking someone details about their treatment out of our own discomfort, so their stories often go untold. Jill joins me on this episode to give us a candid look into her journey with an aggressive form of breast cancer.

Jill Taylor is a Dentist, Entrepreneur, Mom to twin littles, world class athlete, and all round kickass human. At the height of her training for the ITU worlds sprint triathlon in Europe in August of 2019, she noticed a lump in her breast. Within days she was told she had an aggressive form of breast cancer. She would then need to undergo chemotherapy as soon as possible, followed by surgery, radiation and a year of immunotherapy. She
only had a couple of weeks to organize her practice, her life and arrange care for her children, all while barely being able to comprehend exactly how sick she was or how long her healing journey would take. She is here today to share her story with us of the misery AND gift her cancer diagnosis and treatment were, and how she has persevered with a iron determination, a fantastic sense of humour, an inspirational mindset, and the help of her amazing support system.

Jill mentions a YouTube video she used to help tell her children about cancer - here’s the link!
