Fascinating, insightful and inspiring chat with Becky Boucherat from Yoga with Boosh.

Her knowledge of breathing, meditation, movement, yoga and how it all connects made for a really interesting listen for me and I'm sure it will for you too.

She speaks openly and candidly about how early on she just decided she had to just soldier on through her own issues brought on by her parents break-up but found that this then caused how emotions to be brought out in a different way.

She found that movement, be it dancing, yoga or just getting up and out was incredibly powerful for her in fight against her mental health issues.

Becky speaks so passionately about her love for all of this and passing the methods on for others to experience them too.

“Before I went on antidepressants and I was tweeting about how bad I was feeling, people would say I should try meditating, and I thought they were fucking clowns. But after I came off the pills it’s what helped keep me stable, it’s what helped me clear my mind of repetitive, negative thoughts. Meditating is a way to clear my mind of all the shite and it helps me keep bad thoughts away even when I’m not meditating”



“There’s nothing spiritual in it, for me… I just sit somewhere I’m sure I won’t be disturbed. I just sit on a seat. I don’t sit on the ground with my legs crossed or anything like that. But I try to be comfortable, whatever’s best for my back. I close my eyes, and all I try to do for the next fifteen minutes is think about my breathing. Nothing more. That’s it. I don’t try to control my breathing. I don’t try to breathe all slowly, I don’t count in my head or listen to music. I just think about it. I just feel it as it happens all by itself. In, and out”
