Description

This week, we will be joined by Kyle M. Kabasares (he/him).

Kyle is currently a PhD Candidate in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) where he studies supermassive black holes. Kyle completed his undergraduate degree in Physics at the University of California, Merced where he worked on research projects in condensed matter physics. In addition, Kyle spent one summer as a NASA intern studying atmospheric science. A few months into his first year of grad school, Kyle realized that he was not truly committed to the research of the PhD program that accepted him. As a result, he decided to stay in Physics at UCI but change sub-fields. Kyle's search for a new PhD focus led him to interview multiple professors and graduate students in different areas of research at UCI. Ultimately, he decided to pursue research in his childhood interest in astrophysics. Follow Kyle on Twitter (@AstronoMisfit) and Instagram (@astronomisfit).
