This week, we will be joined by Haley Branch (she/her).
Haley is currently a PhD candidate in Botany at the University of British Columbia in Canada. Being a disabled person in the academy can be challenging but when you are in a discipline that includes fieldwork, like hers, there are additional barriers to navigate. Haley’s experiences have led her to found some new initiatives at her university, including a well-being initiative and the Disabled Graduate Student Association. In addition to this, she works as a graduate research assistant with the Equity and Inclusion Office at her university. You can find her on Twitter (@HaleyABranch)!
