Description

In today's episode of The Farm Team podcast I am honored to be joined by the Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities and Event Services at Northeastern University, Alexandra Gallant. Prior to Northeastern, Alex spent 3 and a half years in Tallahassee, Florida working for the Florida State University as the Assistant Director of Event Management and prior to Florida State Alex started her career working for the Merrimack College Warriors as the operations and scheduling manager in the department of athletics.

Alex was born and raised in Salem, New Hampshire where she grew up as a multi-sport athlete before pursuing softball full time. In her High School career Alex pitched her team to two New Hampshire State Championships which earned her an athletic scholarship to play for the Merrimack College Warriors from 2008 to 2012. Alex graduated from Merrimack with a degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education. She followed her undergraduate degree by pursuing a Masters of Education degree while working as a Graduate Assistant in the Warriors Athletic Department.

Alex joins me today to discuss a wide range of topics in the sports management and operations field. It is the goal of any athletic department to create an environment where student-athletes feel they can thrive and a major part of that experience comes from the facilities and event management team. Creating an environment where players, coaches, and fans feel comfortable is the first step to running a successful program.
