In this episode, Dolphins fan Alex Bleuel and I look at the Miami Dolphins heading into their preseason debut against the Chicago Bears on Saturday.
First, we look at whether former Alabama star Tua Tagovailoa will show improvement or an inability to be a franchise quarterback. Alex believes Tua will be better with a full off-season, training camp to command the offense. We also believe Tua should play in the preseason with just three preseason games in 2021.
We also look at Miami restructuring star cornerback Xavien Howard's contract. We both like Miami keeping its defensive star happy and motivated.
Next, we look at Miami's two first-rounds picks, Jaylen Waddle and Jaelan Phillips, and what both rookies could bring to Miami. Despite injury concerns in college, both of us are excited to see these rookies see the field. Alex also makes a bold guarantee over how well veteran receiver Albert Wilson will play this year.
We conclude by looking at two of Miami's recent Opening-Day wins against the Chargers in 2017 and Titans in 2018. Ironically, both games were affected by weather.
