Does superstition have a place in the magickal world? As witches and magickal practitioners, should we be ignoring superstitious beliefs, or paying close attention to them? Can they have an affect on our daily lives and our magickal practice?
The answer to each one of these questions is yes—and also no. The world of superstition is deeply nuanced and rooted in culture and folklore. Examined closely, superstitions also reveal our ancestors had practical, tongue-in-cheek ways of handling problems common to their daily lives.
This week, Megan and I discuss the origins of common superstitions, how they affect magickal practitioners, and different ways to approach them in terms of our spellwork.
