Magpies are astonishingly intelligent birds. They’ve been known to communicate with humans in our own languages, develop regional vernacular with each other, appear to honor their dead, and—perhaps most famously—collect shiny things.
...much like many of us witchy folx.
Like magpies we’re often found in possession of pretty pebbles found by the roadside, coins discovered glimmering in the dirt, sticks, feathers, dice, buttons, and any number of bits and bats that we’ve collected “just because.”
This kind of instinctive, ongoing treasure hunting is often its own kind of magick.
Join Shannon and me today as we talk about what drives us “human magpies” to amass our nests of treasure and how to use those very objects in both the simplest and most complex witchy workings!
