Marketers at the popular Kugiya market in the Bukuru metropolis of Jos were over the weekend shocked by the action taken by the Jos Metropolitan Development Board, JMDB as a part the market where sellers gather for daily transactions was brought to ground zero.
Although, the marketers in Kugiya market claimed they were not given any prior notice, they further blamed their Chairman who was said to have known about the demolition and didn't inform them but kept collecting market levies according to report gathered. JMDB on it's own part made it clear that they have been on a three month engagement with the chairman of the market.With the recent economic hardship, people are struggling to survive and these business owners are not left out, what is the purpose of the demolition and how can the common man get to know the greater jos master plan in other not to be victimized?
