Before the oil boom era, the Northern region was a major contributor to the Gross Domestic Product, GDP with the constant production of Agricultural products and trade.
With the present situation, the Northern region of Nigeria produces lesser than any other region, waiting for subvention from the government to enable them achieve payment of salaries and completion of projects.
