A lot comes to mind when we see the word "religion." Maybe you think of something good, or something bad. Whatever it may be, religion can sometimes be a barrier to the heart of the Gospel: Jesus Christ. It is not practices, sacraments, or rituals that make us right with God. Only the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross can make us right in the eyes of God.
