In today's episode Adison and I talk about everything from her experiences with bodybuilding to her current experiences with intuitive eating and enjoyable movement. Adison and I dive deep into the scary side of what an obsession with "health" and fitness may bring us. We also discuss the toxic pressure that society and social media so often places on us and how to move through that. Next, we explore what getting rid of tracking your food intake and body weight can give you in life (spoiler alert - FREEDOM!!). Additionally, Adison and I talk about body image and weight struggles. We both agreed that your weight is NOT a determinate of your health, and that it actually means SO little in the grand scheme of things.
Adison is a soon to be registered dietitian. She just finished her dietetic internship this semester & graduates in May of 2021 with her Master's in Nutrition. She also recently opened her own coaching business, Adison Barnhart Nutrition LLC, to help women find their balance between nutrition and life. Adison believes that at times nutrition and fitness is taken to extremes. It can take over one's entire life instead of enhancing their quality of life. Her mission is to show women that it's okay to hang out in the grey area of nutrition and fitness and that health is much more than the perfect physique.
