Episode summary introduction: As Black women, we are often seen as matriarchs and leaders of our families and communities. Whether it is in the role of girlfriend, wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, employee, co-worker, caretaker, or business owner, we give out a lot. And it seems we are expected to proudly serve in these roles since we are often referred to as “the strong black woman.” However, it can become exhausting to constantly be on point at all times and we may neglect our psychological needs.
