Friend and future scientist Dina, joins the podcast as our first guest of the third season. This week we share our collection of stories where we both have struggled to stop saying YES, and needed to start saying NO. Its something we all can relate to whether we realize it or not. According to Sarah Knight, the author of "F*ck No! How to Stop Saying Yes When You Can't, You Shouldn't or You Just Don't Want to" describes that most individuals that have issues with this assertion of boundaries are either over achievers, pushovers, have FOMO, and generally are people pleasers. Dina and I share how these personality traits have risked our performances professionally, accepting of bad behaviors with partners and even starting conflict amongst friends. Learning to say no is the best form of self care, and well....a slice of cake, of course.
