On today's episode, I'm very excited to be chatting with Mr. Nick Thompson. The singer and songwriter for the band Hit The Lights.
Nick is also the singer and main songwriter for his project Thief Club.
I first heard Hit The Lights in 2005 and I've been a fan since. Hit The Lights has put out four full lengths and they're all amazing.
Nick and I have crossed paths a few times in the last 10 years or so and we talk about some of those random connections.
I remember running into him at an Alkaline Trio/New Found Glory show in Columbia Missouri of all places.
We discuss what it was like growing up in Ohio, forming Hit The Lights, navigating the challenges associated with going from guitar to lead vocals.
We also discuss what it's been like working with such a wide array of producers and how that carries over and influences Nick's production today.
I had a lot of fun speaking with Nick, he's about as down-to-earth and humble as they come. I really appreciate him taking the time.
