A walk through the Book of Proverbs.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 1:7)
My fellow pilgrim, welcome to this great season of your life. As you may have discovered, life is a trust, an assignment, a mystery; only the wise hold the key. You are at a great place in life, I can tell. It promises to get better, but only if you attend to the important issues and leave behind the mundane. Know that you are not alone in this journey, there are many of your climes also taking the ride. Together, we will walk through life, take into cognizance the issues that make for a great and rewarding experience here on earth and the life hereafter.
You see, life can be cheap if you are prepared, I mean if you have the right tools, or as this generation will say, "if you have the correct information, the right environment, and the right action."
The first to note is that you need help. You were not designed to go through life alone, and you are not meant to trudge on in darkness.
The Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. (Genesis 2:18A)
Many folks have walked your path; they have tread where you are just about to walk. They are familiar with where you are trying to go. The wise thing to do is befriend them.
Even if you are a trailblazer, you still need help. Your trail may be new, but the required tools are all around. There are people positioned around you, include them.
You will need to recognize wisdom, many people have tried to define it, have wondered what makes for it, and some have inferred that wisdom is not an 'it', wisdom is the person of Christ Jesus. You need to find Him and follow Him with all you have. Whatever He tells you, however, He leads you; wherever He bids, your discovery will be useful.
Friend, life is deep, and only the wise can have access. Some depths appear as though they would swallow you, but in reality, therein lay treasures untold. Some sayings take their root beyond what the ordinary eye can see; you have to look with the eye of faith. Indeed, life is made up of mysteries, and only the wise can unravel them.
The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law. (Deuteronomy 29:29)
In locating the depths of life, you need lessons on the smart way to live. You require the knowledge of the 'how to' of life. It would help if you had the way of honesty, justice, and fairness. You need to have a strong sense of value, and you need to know the way of truth and its ability to stand alone. Equity, my friend, will make a star out of you.
When you embrace wise sayings, you will shine brighter than many stars in your time, your knowledge will increase, and you will be the man with the Midas touch.
Never arrive in your own eyes, never presume to know. God sets man's destination in life; let Him show you. Keep striving to understand and stay willing to add to what you already know. There are many wise sayings, and not one person under heaven is the sole connoisseur. Be prepared to be a perpetual student.
The story is told of the nine blind men assigned to touch the elephant and report their findings. They came in with nine different views, all right but only parts of the truth. Know this, my friend; your opinion is only part of the puzzle, there are many other parts.
My dear young fellow, you are in the prime of your life! Yes, indeed, you are, but you must fear God, and your world will fear you. Show respect for matters of God's kingdom, show regard for God's people, that my friend is your sure way out of foolishness.
You are young, I know, but there are things that age and experience alone can teach. Pay attention to the wisdom of the ages. What your parents put in you should form your character and give you a footing in life, do not despise them.
There is a stage in every young person's life; wanting to belong will be
