Colliding With Destiny

The assignment was simple. Go look for the lost sheep, not an unusual errand, after all a good shepherd must know to look for even the one lost sheep. Only thing is, this errand was happening when destiny was knocking.

The people of Israel had envied their neighbours. They loved the fact that they had physical kings to lead them to war. For them, it was kind of awkward having to rely on a God they did not see and moreso having to consult prophets before they could do anything. Never mind that they had been warned, they were a peculiar people, a chosen generation and yet a very unsatisfied lot.

They had troubled the Prophet Samuel sore in their quest for their own king, like all the neighbouring countries had. Beware of wanting to belong. They wanted to be what already were.

Saul’s brief was ‘take with you the servant and go look for lost sheep’. The Bible takes a moment to describe Saul.
