The woman at the Well
Belonged to the forbidden race, with the oddest story. No wonder she came when she would be alone. Her pain ran deep. Thirsty and lonely, married five husbands, none filled the void she felt. Now on the sixth man, no need to marry, too much hassle. She looked for in man, what was only possible in God.
The day came and THE man was waiting. Her pain spoke for her, like the porcupine, ready to attack. The man Jesus, gently guided her to the real source of what she lacked.
For once in her life, somebody understood her, was not going to use her and had a promise for a great future.
What’s not to love, she. Ran back to town, to the people she would not face earlier. Now she had the ‘come and see’ word.
My dear, what is your story. Today, may God give you the miracle that will make a witness out of you.
Study John 4
Note:
“Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?” So the people came streaming from the village to see him.
Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus because the woman had said, “He told me everything I ever did!” When they came out to see him, they begged him to stay in their village. So he stayed for two days, long enough for many more to hear his message and believe. Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not just because of what you told us, but because we have heard him ourselves. Now we know that he is indeed the Savior of the world.” (John 4:29, 39-42)
