SEIZED OPPORTUNITY
When the journey began, everything looked lack luster. Things were bad and there was no use dreaming about the unimaginable. There may have been countless prophecies declaring her as royal, the constant question would be; how, where, when? In a foreign land, not likely!
What were the odds, there was a sitting queen in the palace, the King was not particularly a nice man, how would things play themselves out? Only God knew.
But just like that, events turned, the Queen was dethroned and a search for a new one was embarked on. By the time she saw herself in the King’s harem, she knew she had to seize the moment. It was time to deploy all she learned from her cousin. She learnt obedience, gentleness and quietness of spirit comportment amongst other virtues. It was not hard to defer to Hegai, the eunuch, she already was used to deference living with Mordecai. The effect was that she not only found favor, she was able to retain the favor.
Esther showed that it was not enough to be beautiful and favorable, there was need to add inner strength and to rely on the help provided by God.
