Life is full of ups and downs, sometimes we win and other times we lose. In some cases, the loss is so hard that it drops you to the lowest level possible: rock bottom. It is the point where all the odds are stacked against you and your chances of recovery are slim to none. At rock bottom, you have no one but yourself to rely on. Unfortunately, through life's challenges, many of us will probably reach this level at some point in our lives. However, the experience of each and everyone will greatly depend on how we will perceive such hardship. What if your organization, whole country or the whole world hits rock bottom, what is your role as the leader should be ?

Sarinda Unamboowe : Chief Executive officer – M A S Kreeda ( Sri Lanka) checked in to the cafe & shared very insightful of course his experiences on Rising Strong from Rock Bottom. 

Many of the most successful people who hit rock bottom before reaching their personal greatness describe their rock bottom as being the biggest opportunity of their lives. An opportunity to start over. Few people get the chance to rebuild their lives in a design that they love and approve of. Those who have hit rock bottom in their academics, entrepreneurship, career, love life or sports ambitions get the chance to do this. As matter of fact, this seemingly unfortunate times can be the best thing to happen to you.  Remember Once you are at rock bottom, you can only go up. Sarinda did share some amazing insights on this podcast. He did mention that Dream a lot, that dream can be the north start for you. You will have pitstop & it doesn’t mean that dream is over. In terms of an organizational context, sarinda did mention that peoples emotions matter & leaders need to connect emotionally which communication plays a major role in it, specially when in a crisis situation. Keep them inform & update about the journey & the pitfalls.

Horton Plain

Horton Plains National Park is situated in the Central Province of Sri Lanka of Nuwara Eliya District. It is positioned at the eastern boundaries of the Upper Montane Forest Range (1500 meters-2524 meters above sea level) of Central Highland of Sri Lanka. The plateau of Horton Plains which is at a nominal elevation of 2100 meters also bears the 2nd and the 3rd highest peaks of Sri Lanka, The area of the Horton Plains is. or 31.6 sq. km. and is about 8% of the total upper montane forests and grasslands of Sri Lanka. Horton Plains has an average rainfall figure of around 5000mm though the surrounding areas have an average of 2540mm. annual temperature for the area is about 13C . One can expect temperatures as high as 27C during day and 5C during nights. Around 1820s the British came to know about this unique nature resource. It was later renamed as Horton Plains after the then British Governor Sir Robert Horton (Governor from 1832-1837). Sir Samuel Baker made this area popularised during his hunting encounters.
