Yeah, of course this was going to happen. Who starts a podcast focusing on music from the early 00's and skips over St. Anger?
There's the usual St. Anger bingo that you can play with your friends. Mix, Bob Rock, Snare Sound. No Solos.
But to ensure we give you more bang for your buck (reminder that this podcast is free thanks to our sponsors) we have Tom M. joining us to deep dive into what works on this album and what doesn't. Maybe time has been kind to the very, very long album. Maybe at the time the fanbase were still upset when Lars tried to sue Napster and that clouded their judgement. Maybe this album is just really bad. I mean, you've come this far. Just hit play and explore all of things Metallica and by all things Metallica, I just mean St. Anger.
Before I go, I'm really happy with this episode. Sure the high quality that you've come to expect from Bacio Death Trip is there (excuse a bit of the popping on Tom's mic. It's his first go. Be kind. Plus it suits the St. Anger vibe) but I was mainly just stoked that it's done. It's over. I don't have a reason to watch Some Kind of Monster ever again. That's pure joy. Like a dog being let off it's leash, a student submitting their last ever thesis or Jamie Kennedy completing shooting on the set of Scream 3. It's done. It's over. What doesn't kill you, can only make you stronger, right? Right?
