The second statement in Triad 12 speaks of these teachers shepherding themselves without fear. The implication is that they are without the fear of Yahweh. These teachers, these dreamers are fools, for they do not allow themselves to be shepherded by wisdom and knowledge—by the fear of Yahweh. Rather, without fear, they shepherd themselves.
The third statement in Triad 12speaks of “Clouds without water”. What an amazing word picture. The idea is that we see clouds coming, we have great expectation for rain, provision, refreshment, satisfaction, shade even, and we have great hope for life. After all, we desperately need what they are promising. But they do not deliver, and they cannot deliver because they are dry—they have nothing to give.
