At the end of the 1,000-year period, heaven and the earth will be wiped out of existence, destroyed by intense fire and heat; in its place, Jesus creates a new heaven and earth, which will be a place of happiness and joy for all humanity.
In this new creation will be a glorious city, the New Jerusalem (which is how He images the Bride of Christ, as a city, a place of refuge and a safe haven for the Righteous and the Elect where they can experience the presence of God in-and-through the Bride of Christ.
