The image of the high wall of the city, with angelic protectors, communicates a place of safety, security, and stability, a protected place where no one can break in. The city is a refuge for the Righteous and the Elect as they must pass through this city to experience Jesus.
There are 3 gates on each wall bearing the names of the tribes of Israel, twelve in all, and the foundation stones have the names of the twelve apostles upon them. Our lives of faith were built upon theirs.
