Description

Revelation 11 addresses: The Sanctuary of God; The Final Division; The two Witnesses (Their Persecution, Death, and Resurrection); the Second Woe; the Seventh Trumpet; the Rapture; and the Preparation for the Time of Wrath. It is a chapter layered in time with what can only be described as a synonymic explosion of images.

God measures the Sanctuary (where only the Priests may enter). The Sanctuary is just a piece of the Temple at large; and by measuring it God stakes out His personal possession. This is the final division in-and-amongst the people within His household. This is a culling of the Chosen of the Chosen who live by grace through faith, from all others in the household of God who insist on living as slaves.

The Sanctuary is measured with a “reed” that is like a rod. A reed is a hollow, a human and angelic measurement, but being like a rod, the measurement will be accurate and true. The reed is connected with the Lampstand in the Sanctuary, and it is purposed to flow with oil—the oil of the Spirit which is to remain perpetually lit. This is the true measuring standard of God’s division.
