The resurrection of the two witnesses is what the Codex calls the “first resurrection.” There are only two resurrections depicted throughout
Revelation. The first resurrection is unto life, whereas the second resurrection is unto judgment and eternal damnation. Blessed and holy is the one who is now having a part in the first resurrection over these the second death will have no power.
The hour of judgment for the great city of religious apostasy arrives with a devastating earthquake. A tenth of the leadership within the religion of Christianity fall from their place of power and position. This is personal as the names of 7,000 were caused to be killed—most likely the leaders of this great city of religious apostasy. The rest were terrified and gave glory to God. But at the sound of the last trumpet (the 7th Trumpet), it is too late.
The judgment of the apostate system begins in the temple and is swift and firm as God will use the Beast and his demonic council to desolate the religion of Christianity. The 2nd WOE is past, now comes the 3rd WOE.
