Ms Anna Tayag, DOTr Project Devt Officer - Railway, shared with us the status of construction of the first phase of Mindanao Railway that will run from Tagum -Davao City-Digos over 102 kilometers of railroad. Partial operations is slated in the 2nd quarter of 2022.
With depot located in Tagum, the segment will have 8 stations in Tagum, Carmen, Panabo, Mudiang, Davao, Toril, Sta Cruz and Digos. It is expected to serve some 130,000 passengers daily initially, and expected to increase to 375,000 by year 2042.
