From the current length of 77 kilometer of railway, the Department of Transportation - Philippines aims to extend this to 1,900 kilometer by the time Build, Build, Build Program is completed by 2022 and beyond.
Six (6) railway projects are now under construction, namely: the Metro Manila Subway; Common Station; MRT-7; LRT-1 Cavite Extension; LRT-2 East Extension; and PNR Clark Phase 1 . Eight ( more rail lines are scheduled to start construction. These are: the PNR Clark Phase 2; PNR Calamba; PNR Bicol; Subic-Clark; Mindanao Railway; LRT-2 West Extension; MRT-4; and Cebu
All of these will require some 10,000-15,000 personnel to run and operate the train systems. Where will these men and women come from?
