MASTER LIFE LESSON #2: Be FOR LOVE, Not AGAINST HATE
Today is the second day in our 10 day series on mastering your life and today’s lesson is, what you are for will strengthen you, and what you are against will weaken you. You will become a mirror image of that which you fight. You can’t destroy evil with more evil. If you want to be rich, you don’t study poverty. You can’t promote peace with an anti-war rally.
The battles in your mind will be reflected outwards, so work on your inner peace first. If you want to bring strength and fortitude to a situation, cultivate that which you want. You can’t get what you want by focusing on your lack of it. It’s so easy to criticize evil, but that doesn’t make the world better, you need to be better. Let bad events touch you and drive you to do better.
My version of the serenity prayer is, God grant me the serenity to accept the people I can’t change, the courage to change the people I can, and the wisdom to know it’s me. Change starts with you, you are not a victim to your environment. Choose your attitude regardless of your circumstances. When you find yourself getting angry about the news, realize that your future depends on the things to which you listen, watch, read, and the people you hang out with.
If everyone could be just a little more loving to their families, massive change would occur. Nothing is good or bad, it’s how you look at it that matters. Try meditating to help you reach an objective point of view. Just relax and stop expecting yourself to be perfect. The people that are most charismatic have an immense level of compassion, kindness, and joy, and are more spiritually attuned than physically attuned.
